ROUGETTE BAVARIAN RED

Creamy & buttery is an understatement. ROUGETTE Bavarian Red is so soft and smooth you will wonder, how did we do it? This soft ripened cheese begins with high quality milk sourced only from cows in the Bavarian region of Germany. During the cheese making process, we add all-natural paprika extract which brings out it’s beautiful red exterior color and adds just a hint of flavor. The result is ROUGETTE Bavarian Red, a rich, creamy, and colorful addition to any cheese assortment.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Reddish-orange and white, edible exterior. Creamy yellow-white soft interior. Mild aroma. 

PAIRINGS:

Pair it with a white or sparkling wine or a red ale. Serve it at room temperature with baguette and fresh fruits or jams. Slice into a salad, melt onto a pizza or layer into a sandwich for rich midday treat.  

LACTOSE FREE, GLUTEN FREE, & VEGETARIAN

ROUGETTE Bavarian Red is lactose-free due to the natural maturation process during cheese-making. Our cheeses are all naturally gluten-free and because we use microbial rennet, they are 100% vegetarian-friendly.

WHAT DOES “SOFT-RIPENED” MEAN?

A soft-ripened cheese is a cheese that is aged from the outside in. The mold and cultures that are added to the cheese during the cheese-making process form a bloomy exterior on the outside and creamy interior as the cheese ages.

All cheeses made by our supplier Käserei Champignon are made using pasteurized and rBST-free milk from cows in the alpine region of Bavaria, Germany. We promise fresh quality milk in every ounce of cheese.
